Saipanda is a rare creature native to and only found in Saipan. He is hard to capture with the camera. With a lot of patience I was able to photograph this dreadful animal as he terrorized the island.
Despite the complementary natural blending that Saipanda appears to have in the local environment did not originate on the island of Saipan. This non-endemic creature accidentally arrived in cargo enroute to the Duty Free Galleria in Garapan. Saipanda has found the Marianas to be the perfect home, as it is free of predators and it's appetite for loose yen is readily satiated. Since it's introduction less than a decade ago it has been propogated into the thousands, taking over the natural habitat of earlier established species, such as the bojobo.
